Save the Date for ICEASD 2026, A Green Reckoning from the Southeastern Coast

Rawaaopakonsel.ac.id, Lamooso — Across the lecture halls and laboratories of Southeast Sulawesi’s academia, unease over an increasingly fragile planet has never quite settled. Since its inception in 2018, a consortium of scholars across this southeastern peninsula has fought to sustain one vital forum: the International Conference on Environmental Awareness for Sustainable Development (ICEASD).

“Now, the international assembly is preparing for its return. We already started from 2018, thank Allah that give us time and opportunity to run this event since that time and continuing to years recently,” said Ismail Suardi Wekke as the member off Scientific Committee.

The forthcoming edition is scheduled to run from November 27 to 29 in a hybrid format, anchored across the three campuses of Institut Agama Islam Rawa Aopa Konawe Selatan. The tri-campus host (Lamooso-Andoolo-Kendari) arrangement reflects the forum’s foundational ethos—forged through cross-institutional synergy to confront urgent ecological crises head-on. Set against a landscape endowed with rich ecosystems yet acutely exposed to resource exploitation, the region offers a raw, timely backdrop for discourse on global sustainability.

Over successive editions, ICEASD has assembled researchers, policymakers, and environmental practitioners from across the globe. The proceedings consistently look beyond dry paper presentations from ivory towers, aiming instead for grounded blueprints—ranging from wetland conservation and coastal governance to equitable climate mitigation at the grassroots level.

“Sustainability is no longer an optional theoretical luxury; it demands immediate, concerted action,” noted the steering committee in an initial release. Organizers underscored that the November gathering serves as a critical juncture to bridge applied field research and tangible public policy, ensuring scientific insights do not languish on library shelves.

The organizing committee is currently finalizing the call for papers, full itinerary, and international keynote lineups. A formal prospectus and registration timeline are slated for release in the coming weeks.

For researchers and environmental advocates alike, ICEASD represents far more than a routine entry on the academic calendar. It remains a persistent effort to nurture ecological foresight—rooted in the heart of Southeast Sulawesi, directed toward the world.
